Simulation of the Air Flow Inside an Olidata Computer Case
Executed with FlexPDE 2.22
Some time ago (2004) I tried to simulate with FlexPDE how the air moved inside the case of my Olidata computer. I was unable to define a good 3D geometry due to the restrictions in the student version of the software (1800 nodes max), so I had to use a quite simple 2D geometry (800 nodes max).
The contour conditions are on the air flux through the fans and grilles, the results are shown in the following pictures. On the right is the front side of the case, on the left the rear side. On the right, from the top, are visible the cd burner, the floppy drive, the hard disk. On the left, on the top, the power supply. In the lower left part of the model I removed a big area only to reduce the number of nodes required.
