This series of articles started as simple reminder to myself of the steps required to prepare my server, in case I need it again, and to produce some documentation for other users willing to follow the same path (of pain) and not finding enough information on the web about OmniOS, then it was expanded to produce a complete series of articles on the topic. Not only the software, but the hardware is described and commented too, including some opinions about alternative prebuilt solutions.
